Week 2
did a proposal. I'm from entertainment design, for design exploration, i decided to deepen more in my environment art because i have a foundation in manual painting for landscape and scenery, so i would really like to take this chance to paint something digitally that i can do freely. So then i came up with an idea to make a storybook.

Week 3
At first i did a script for the storybook generated by Chatgpt, thats when i start sketching for the character.

Week 4
But then after consulting in back to Mr.Asrizal, he said its too much work if i need to make another story, why not make based on an existing storybook. So that's when i came up and look for an existing story which is "the little match girl" by pink fonk.

Week 5
After that, i start making storyboard and compiling all the visual reference for what i want my storybook to look like.

Week 8 - 14
First i divide the animation into sections so i can know better for which scene to insert in each page.

Then i Move on an made the book cover and back cover.

After doing all the pages, i also insert the final pages to Fliphtml5 to generate it into an e-book :

STICKERS  :
For the sticker pack, since i'm doing the little match girl which took part in winter christmas day, so i decided to make a sticker pack related to christmas.

At first i was quite contemplating whether i should do cutesy or realism, but then i tried doing cutesy with thick outline and less render (shading) but i couldn't... it turned out not what i imagine it would be, so i decided to stick back with my art style and this is the references that i've compiled for the sticker pack that i'll be making.

Fig. 21 - Sticker moodboard

So down here is the first page of t he sticker pack, i still feel like its empty somehow so i added more later on. But ya i inserted christmas tree, fortune cookie, smores, eggnog, match, candy cane, basket, and some decoration bells.

Fig. 22 - First page draft

After adding more objects like snowman, and christmas stockings, originally i was planning to make another 2 pages for another different objects. But time is running out so then i remember i can just change the layout and the page color. SO there i did green and red version.

Fig. 23 - 3 Colored version

After looking it once again, the green needs to be darker and i feel like the objects aren't quite captivating, so i put a white outline like how stickers are. And thats the final design for the stickers. I was actually really proud of how it turned out and it doesn't look empty at all.

REFLECTION

Exploring deeper into environment design made me sure about what i'm good at, what needed to be improved, what i can do easily, and what i like the least. It has been a fun journey making illustrative storybook following my artsyle. I enjoyed every single process and perhaps i'll be focusing more learning and improving my environment art. I also learn during the process that i still have trouble in color theory and on my drawing skills, sure i can paint well but in the earlier process i had problem with sketching. I get too overwhelm with things and wanted to directly start and paint.

I consulted with Mr. Kannan and he said its fine as long as the results are nice, but one thing to consider is that when i start directly paint, i might missed out on the many ideas exploration i could do and add during sketching part, i might get too overwhelm also with wanting to do details rather than do the whole concept first. SO thats one thing im still working on up until today. Other than that i'm really proud of my outcome for both sticker and storybook.
