Exterior and Landscape

Fig.

Fig.

For the landscape, i altered it differently than what i did on project 1 , so the background is the mountain and green hills and on the foreground is forest with wild trees and vines and also it has a wooden panel that shows nearby there'll be the hobbit inn. The dark ambience from the forest is to make an emphasis in the hobbit inn thats nearby.

Interior

This is the revised version of the interior, it has a more curvy edges, inside the dining room its supported by wooden beams and stone based floor. It also has stone firewood to keep them warm during winter, plates cabinet to store their plates and utensils, wooden barrel to store their food, long wooden communal table for them to seat and eat, the inn also provided some stoves and pan for customers to use.

Fig.

This is how it looked like full top view, Stone based fireplace, stone floor, wooden barrels for food storage, wooden table. You might wonder why its empty, its mainly because the things that are provided here are just the main items customer might want to use. So food, supplies and others comes with customer.

Reflection

Environment design was one of my anticipated module before joining entertainment design, i was curious of how people can draw flawlessly into a seemingly nice environment. After taking this module, i feel like there's more to learn especially in the clarity of my coloring, shading and attention to details. I learnt that its important to have it step by step,  i thought it'll be quick and easy handling the props and details, turns out its quite lot work not to mention we need to pay attention to the composition of each item/props. In the beginning, i struggled in composition and value, but then slowly i get it, but then after i got it in black and white value, i struggled again in how to color them.

I watched multiple tutorials and noticed that everyone got different techniques and steps, some just paint over their black and white value because its easier to differentiate the values, but some just started directly in blank canvas (professionals ofc), which i thought it'll be easier so i tried it out (that got me no where except regretting it because it wasted most my time) So yeah, i realize the sketching part especially is so important. I also learn that to make a good ambience we can use the soft light/overlay/multiply blend in photoshop. Honestly i learnt a lot, and also there's a lot more that i need to improve on.
