On the first week of class, Mr. Kanaan gave us YouTube video to watch and learn.
Exercise : World Creation
Instruction :
You are to choose a game that you intend to alter the art
direction/aesthetics. ("note that you are not creating a game design, only
art) Based on your choice you are to then create a world with initial
concept arts and collections of reference and extracting
information/components that is shown in your mood board which explains the
following:
a. Time
b. Era
c. Ambience and mood
d. Back Story
e. Crisis
f. Culture - design component representing their race, worship, colors, materials used, etc.
g. Ecosystem - who lives there, what do they do,, animals, creatures, flora, etc/
h. Geolocation - plain, mountain pass, dungeons, temples ruins, highlands, sea, river, forest etc.
i. Architectural design - structure, monuments, relics etc.
j. Resources - nuclear, oil, crystal etc.
k. Genre - Horror, comedy, drama etc
l. Target audience - range max to 8 years.
m. Theme - (Fantasy - south east asian) + Sci-fi, Post war, Post apocalypse, Medieval, etc.
n. Classes/Hierarchy
o. Transport - Man made, animal, hybrids, portals, etc.

FIRST IDEA - hayday
After the briefing of the assignment and what we'll be doing in this
module, i move on to doing some game research and to look for which game i
wanted to alter the art direction. So for the first initial idea that i
had, I was going to alter the game hayday. But before all that, i've had
plenty of suggestion in mind that i compiled in a moodboard.
The reason i chose hayday in the first place is because i feel like i know the
gameplay better than any other games, because i play lame basic games.. And so
here's the proposal slides.
SECOND IDEA - Cookie run
Okay so after trying multiple times, i finally decided to change my game
reference into cookie run. Hay day is fine but i feel like it'll be too
boring and whatsoever, but with cookie run, we have both antagonist and
protagonist, also i can have multiple levels with different achievements
and hurdles. After showing the new proposal to mr. kannan, he also approved. so yeah, since its only week 3 or 4, i change the whole thing
and this is what i came up with.
