FINAL REFLECTION

To be honest, I didn't quite expect that 14 weeks went by this quick, feels like it was just yesterday when we first started our first design principle exercise. I remember when I first learn about the design principles (movement, harmony, asymmetrical balance, symmetrical balance, gestalt theory, symbol, repetition, and others) I felt a tremendous amount of pressure and feeling all kinds of confusion because I couldn't differentiate which is which. But then the more I learn and also saw some of my friends work along with Ms. Yip Jinchi's explanation during feedback session, I slowly understand the difference and how it was implemented into a design. Overall the part I enjoy most this semester was doing sense of place since I can draw whatever I'm feeling at that certain place, 70% of it is basically trusting my emotion and the process. Through design principle, I can say I'm rather quite astonished that turns out almost all designs/artworks has design principles in it, as the matter of fact, I never thought that design principle is used in daily life. On this journey, I found myself lack of consistency in doing the designs, I often procrastinate and do it few days before deadline. Nevertheless, I also felt like I'm improving in each assignment, although it is a vastly slow improvement, I now learn to trust myself that in whatever it is I'm doing, I need to give it 101%, see how far I can do. Also fun fact, I used to hate working on the blogs, but now I enjoy it so much HAHA. Anyhow.. Thanks Ms. Yip Jinchi for guiding us through this first semester!!
